A free tour is a guided walk of about 90 to 120 minutes whose price is not fixed: at the end you give the guide whatever tip feels fair for what they gave you. There is no minimum and nobody asks you for it halfway round.
It is a good way to get to know a city with a local before deciding what to see more slowly, and also if you live nearby and never stopped to listen to its history. Today there are departures in cities such as Seville, Córdoba, Carmona, Alcalá de Henares, Valladolid, Medina del Campo and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Here you only pay a 2 € booking fee per person, online by card: it holds your place and stops the guide waiting for no-shows. Some tours have a reduced 1 € rate for youths aged 12 to 16 and charge no booking fee for children aged 0 to 11.
The tour itself is tip-based: you hand the tip to the guide at the end, in the amount you decide. Each listing explains how it works, and the booking can be cancelled under its policy.
Each listing describes the route, the meeting point and the language. Most are in Spanish; there are also departures in English. Places per departure are limited, so for Saturday mornings book ahead.
