What you can book in Barcelona today

The catalog in Barcelona is four motor boats leaving from the port, off Passeig de Joan de Borbó in Barceloneta. Two are chartered with no licence: a five-metre Marion 500 Classic with a 15 hp engine for up to five people, and a 2020 Trimarchi 53S for six, both with fuel included.

The other two need a boating licence and are a good deal more boat: a 2021 Trimarchi 57 with a 100 hp engine for seven people and a 7.25-metre Minimare Sunrise 7 with 115 hp for nine, both with chartplotter GPS, depth sounder and mounts for wakeboard and towable inflatables.

The price is for the boat, not the seat

Licence-free hire starts at 100 € an hour: two hours for 180 € from April to June and in September, 200 € in July and August, and up to four hours for 280 € and 300 €. Split between five or six, it comes out below the per-head price of a group excursion.

With a licence, the Trimarchi 57 is 200 € for two hours, 250 € to 300 € for a four-hour half day and 350 € to 400 € for the eight-hour day; the Sunrise 7, 300 € to 350 € and 450 € to 500 €. On those two the fuel is extra, and the donut, the towable inflatable and the wakeboard are 50 € a day each.

How booking works and when you are charged

All four boats are on request: the amount is held on your card when you book and only charged once the business confirms the time. If it does not, the hold is released and you pay nothing.

The meeting point is Passeig de Joan de Borbó 103; the exact pontoon is confirmed when you book and it is worth arriving fifteen minutes early. On the licence-free boats they run you through the controls before you cast off.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a boating licence?

For two of the four boats, no: the Marion 500 Classic (up to 5 people) and the Trimarchi 53S (up to 6) are chartered licence-free and they run you through the controls before you cast off. The Trimarchi 57 and the Sunrise 7 do need a licence.

Is the price per person?

No, it is per boat. Licence-free, from 100 € an hour and 180 € to 200 € for two hours depending on the season, fuel included; with a licence, from 200 € for two hours and fuel extra. The more of you go, the less it costs each.

When am I charged?

Booking only places a hold on your card. The charge happens when the business confirms the time; if it does not, the hold is released and you pay nothing.
