Málaga · 105 min · 2 €+ · Walkie Talkie Tours
Walk through almost 3,000 years of Málaga's history in under two hours with an official guide who lives here, and pay for the tour with a tip at the end. We set off from Plaza de la Constitución, the heart of the city's public life for centuries, and walk down Calle Larios, with its 19th-century facades and the story of the industrial family it is named after. We carry on to the Cathedral, "La Manquita", and tell you why one of its towers was never finished and where the money went. Then come the hidden streets of the old town, Picasso's Málaga (he was born two minutes from the route), the dark chapter of the Inquisition and the spot where you can see the Roman Theatre and the Alcazaba at once: two thousand years of history at a glance. We finish at the Museo de Málaga, in the Palacio de la Aduana, with the guide's tips: the tapas bars locals actually go to, the neighbourhood worth the afternoon and the viewpoint nobody photographs. Duration: 1 h 45 min, on foot and outdoors: we don't go inside any monument, so there are no tickets to pay. In English every day at 10:15 and 16:30; in Spanish Thursday to Monday at 10:15 and 12:45. Official guide licensed by the Junta de Andalucía. Suitable for all ages and abilities, at a relaxed pace with regular stops. Families and pets welcome. The tour is paid with a tip to the guide at the end: whatever you think it was worth. Bring comfortable shoes and water: Málaga is warm even outside summer.
