A try dive is your first time: no certification and no experience are asked for, just being able to swim and feeling well. An instructor stays beside you the whole time and the centre provides the full kit — tank, regulator, wetsuit and weights.
Before getting in there is a short briefing on dry land: how to breathe through the regulator, how to equalise your ears and the hand signals used down there, which are three. That is all.
From the beach you walk in and the whole outing takes about 2 h 30, with 20 minutes underwater from 75 € or 40 minutes for 95 €. It is the simplest option for a first time.
From the boat you sail out to the dive site, so the outing stretches to 3 hours and reaches volcanic reefs you cannot get to from the shore: 20 minutes for 85 € or 40 for 105 €. And if you would rather stay on the surface, snorkelling from the boat is 50 minutes in the water for 45 €.
The full kit, the instructor and insurance are in the price. There is hotel pick-up from the south of the island for 2 € per person: you give your accommodation when booking and the exact time arrives by email.
You book online by card. How it is confirmed depends on each listing, and it's marked before you pay: instant-booking activities send the QR pass as soon as you pay; those subject to confirmation only hold the amount and the centre confirms within 24 hours (if it doesn't, nothing is charged). Cancellation terms are set by each centre and written on each activity page, before you pay.
No. A try dive is exactly the first time: an instructor stays beside you throughout and the centre provides the full kit. Being able to swim and feeling well is enough.
Between 20 and 40 minutes, depending on the option you pick. The whole outing takes longer — about 2 h 30 from the beach and 3 hours from the boat — because it includes the dry briefing, getting kitted up and the journey.
From the beach you walk in, which is the simplest choice for a first time, from 75 €. From the boat you reach volcanic reefs you cannot get to from the shore, in exchange for an extra hour and around 10 € more.
