Málaga · 90 min · 2 €+ · Walkie Talkie Tours
Step inside Málaga's Alcazaba and its Roman Theatre with an official guide who explains why every gate, courtyard and tower was built, and pay for the tour with a tip at the end. We start at the foot of the hill, at the 1st-century Roman Theatre, buried and forgotten for over a thousand years until building works brought it to light in 1951. From there we climb into the Alcazaba, built in the 11th century and one of the best-preserved Moorish fortresses in Spain. Inside we walk through the Vaulted Gate and the Torre Albarrana, designed to trap attackers; the viewpoint with the best view of the city, the port and the Mediterranean; the dungeons and grain silos below the palace courtyards; the Fountain Courtyard, once a mosque and a church; the Taifa Palace and, as the finale, the Nasrid Palaces, Málaga's answer to the Alhambra. Afterwards the guide stays on to share tips on tapas, beaches and viewpoints. Duration: 1 h 30 min. In English every day at 12:45; in Spanish Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 16:30. Entry to the Alcazaba is not included: €7 per person. The guide helps you buy it at the meeting point, with no queue, or you can bring it already bought from the official website. Official guide licensed by the Junta de Andalucía. There are ramps, steep stairs and uneven ground: not suitable for wheelchairs or reduced mobility, and pushchairs are not allowed inside (a baby carrier works best). The tour is paid with a tip to the guide at the end: whatever you think it was worth. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water.

The tour itself is tip-based: at the end you give the guide whatever you think it was worth, no minimum. The booking fee is the only compulsory payment.
