Diving in the Canary Islands: three ways into the water in Tenerife

All the diving you can book today in the Canary Islands leaves from Puerto Colón, on Avenida de Colón in Costa Adeje, in the south of Tenerife: a try dive from the beach, another from the boat and a snorkelling boat trip. None requires a certification or previous experience.

The difference lies in how long you spend underwater and where you go in from. On both try dives you choose when booking: 20 or 40 minutes submerged, with an instructor. Snorkelling has no tank: it's 50 minutes swimming with mask and snorkel.

20 or 40 minutes: what changes the price

The beach try dive costs 75 € with 20 minutes underwater and 95 € with 40; it starts with a detailed briefing and a personal instructor. The boat try dive costs 85 € with 20 minutes and 105 € with 40, and goes down over volcanic reefs full of Atlantic wildlife.

The boat snorkelling trip costs 45 € and reaches coves with no access from land, where you swim in crystal-clear water alongside marine life, led by expert guides. All three are open from age 8.

Times, pick-up and pass

The boat try dive and the snorkelling leave every day at 13:30, so your morning stays free; the beach try dive takes about 2 and a half hours in all and the boat one about 3. There's pick-up from hotels in the south of the island for 2 € per person: give your accommodation when booking and the time arrives by email.

All three are instant booking: the QR pass arrives as soon as you pay and you show it on your phone when you arrive. The exact cancellation deadline is written on each listing before you pay.
