Tip-based free walking tours in Málaga

Seven guided walks, tip-based, through Málaga's historic centre: several versions of the old town, a night-time tour in English, the Alcazaba and the Roman Theatre, and two with virtual reality. They last between 1 h 30 min and 1 h 45 min, run in Spanish or English depending on the departure and stay outdoors.

What each one covers

The historic-centre tours start at Plaza de la Constitución or the Alameda Principal and last 1 h 45 min; the history, secrets and art tour runs in English every day at 10:15 and 16:30, and in Spanish from Thursday to Monday at 10:15 and 12:45. The Málaga esencial runs every day at 10:30, in Spanish.

The Alcazaba and Roman Theatre tour lasts 1 h 30 min: in English every day at 12:45 and in Spanish on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 16:30. The night tour is in English, on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, at 18:30 in winter hours and 19:00 in summer.

With virtual reality

Two of the tours, one of the historic centre and one of the Alcazaba, last 90 minutes and include a virtual-reality headset per person to see what the places looked like; the Alcazaba one adds priority skip-the-line access. The minimum age is 7 and under-16s always go with an adult.

How the tip works

The online booking is 2 € per person and the tour is tip-based: at the end you hand the guide whatever you find fair, with no minimum. It is not free: you decide the price when it ends. Entry to the Alcazaba is not included (7 € per person on the Alcazaba and Roman Theatre tour, where the guide helps you buy it at the meeting point); on the virtual-reality Alcazaba tour it is also bought separately.

The online booking is confirmed instantly, with a QR pass; only the Málaga esencial is subject to the business's confirmation, within 24 hours.
